MJI Mechanical Sets

MJI Mechanical Sets: kinetic building sets that move once they are built, with real gears and linkages in standard-size ABS bricks and an exposed, industrial look.

The range is a whole mechanical zoo. Dinosaurs include a T-Rex, Triceratops, Dilophosaur, Pterosaur and Mosasaurus; sea life includes a whale, hammerhead, shark, manta ray, narwhal, sea turtle, piranha and dolphins; and there are an owl, eagle, parrot, lion, horse, crocodile, king cobra, frog and insects such as a dragonfly, mantis, rhino beetle and mosquito. Mechanical tools such as an Ice-Core Battle Axe, a Blue-Core War Hammer and a chainsaw complete the line.

Most sets have between about 700 and 1,700 pieces, and the product pages show the exact count, size and age. Motorised sets move on their own, for example moving a whale's fins and tail together in a swimming motion, and several also have built-in lighting. They make a rewarding weekend build for teens and adults, and a striking display piece afterwards.
