Build the original Gundam in SD form
Recreate the legendary RX-78-2 Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam with this Bandai SD Gundam Cross Silhouette model kit.
The compact model combines the RX-78-2’s iconic red, white, blue and yellow armour with the exaggerated proportions of the SD Gundam range. Colour-separated parts reproduce its familiar appearance directly through assembly, while the detailed armour design gives the finished model a strong mechanical look despite its compact size.
Once assembled using the included SD frame, the model stands approximately 8 cm tall, making it ideal for a desk, shelf or display cabinet.
Choose the eye style
The eye section can be assembled with or without visible pupils, allowing you to choose between a classic expressive SD appearance and a more mechanical Gundam-style look.
Classic RX-78-2 weaponry
Equip the completed Gundam with its familiar weapon selection:
- Beam Rifle
- Shield
- Beam Saber
The poseable internal structure allows the head, arms and legs to be repositioned for compact standing and combat displays.
Optional Cross Silhouette customisation
This is the standard RX-78-2 Gundam kit with the SD frame. The taller white Cross Silhouette Frame is not included.
A separately available Cross Silhouette Frame can be installed to create taller proportions and a different range of articulation. This makes it possible to change the model’s silhouette while retaining the same exterior armour.
The pre-coloured components use Bandai’s snap-fit construction system. Glue and painting are not required, although panel lining and optional painting can add further detail.

Important information
This is an unassembled runner-based plastic model kit, not a ready-made action figure.
The included frame is the shorter SD frame. The taller white Cross Silhouette Frame shown in some promotional comparisons is sold separately and is not supplied with this version.
Glue and painting are not required. Hobby nippers are recommended for cleaner removal of the parts from their runners.
A display base is not included. Contains small and delicate components and is not suitable for children under three years old.
