Wekki is a young building-block brand from Shenzhen, China, founded in 2020, that builds fairy tales and playing cards out of bricks. At Toy Haven you will find a large Pinocchio on Geppetto's workbench and three playing-card scenes with a rotating mechanism.

This guide explains who Wekki are, what makes their sets different, who they suit, and which Wekki sets we stock.

Who makes Wekki?

Wekki is a building-block company from Shenzhen, founded in 2020. It is a newer name than many of the Shantou brick brands. The Wekki sets we stock all centre on a character with a story, surrounded by props and decorative detail, so the finished model looks as much like a little sculpture as a toy.

The Wekki sets we stock

506186 Pinocchio (Fairy Tale Town)

The big one. From the Fairy Tale Town series, this 1,900-piece set shows Pinocchio sitting on Geppetto's wooden workbench, surrounded by paint brushes, an open book, a candle and an ink pot. Built, he is about 32 cm tall. It is a wonderful project for anyone who grew up with the story, and a great conversation piece on a shelf.

Playing-card series

Three smaller sets, each with a character in front of a giant playing-card symbol and a rotating mechanism built in:

  • 503188 Clown Party (464 pieces): a cheerful clown with red and blue hair in front of a big blue club, surrounded by flags, cards and circus details. About 15 cm tall.
  • 503190 Knight's Triumph: a young knight in silver armour on a white horse, in front of a blue spade, on a gold base. About 20 cm tall.
  • 503191 Game of Kings: a king in black and white robes in front of a black spade, with chess pieces at his feet. About 16 cm tall.

All three are €19.95 and rated 6+, so they are a lovely first Wekki build for younger builders.

Why Wekki sets are fun to build

Wekki sets are full of character. The Pinocchio is a long, absorbing build where every prop on the workbench adds a bit more of the story, so it is ideal for a few cosy evenings, perhaps while someone reads the tale aloud. The playing-card sets are quicker, with a moving part that gives you something to play with once the build is done.

The playing-card theme also links the three smaller sets together. Build the clown, the knight and the king and you have a little deck of characters for your shelf, a fun idea for anyone who loves card games or chess.

Where to display your Wekki sets

The playing-card sets have small footprints: the Clown Party is about 17.1 × 8.6 cm, the Knight's Triumph about 16 × 9.9 cm and the Game of Kings about 14.4 × 9 cm, so all three fit side by side on one bookshelf or a desk. The Pinocchio needs a bit more room, at about 32 × 23 × 19 cm, and works best as a centrepiece on its own, where you can see all the little props on the workbench.

Which Wekki set should I choose?

  • A first Wekki build: the 503188 Clown Party at €19.95.
  • Knights and horses: the 503190 Knight's Triumph.
  • Chess fans: the 503191 Game of Kings.
  • The big project: the 506186 Pinocchio, with 1,900 pieces.
