The six MGL Toys Disney Crystal Mickey & Friends figures: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto with their boxes

MGL Toys makes Disney-licensed building block figures in a crystal style: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Winnie the Pooh and friends, built from transparent, glassy-looking parts. They are small, quick builds that look lovely on a desk or windowsill, and most cost €9.95 or €14.95.

If you have seen these see-through Disney figures and wondered what they are, this guide explains how MGL Toys crystal figures work, which series we stock, how the Disney 100 blind boxes work, and who they suit.

MGL Toys at a glance

  • Who: MGL Toys, a Chinese toy brand.
  • What: small Disney figures built from transparent, crystal-look building parts, plus Disney 100 blind boxes.
  • Official: the figures are Disney-licensed.
  • Size: about 7.5 to 14.5 cm tall when built.
  • Ages: 14+ on the crystal figures.
  • Prices at Toy Haven: €9.95 to €44.95 for single figures, or €74.95 for the complete Mickey & Friends set of six.

What are MGL Toys crystal figures?

Each MGL Toys figure is a small building set. Instead of solid coloured bricks, the parts are transparent and tinted in each character's colours, so the finished figure catches the light like coloured glass. Most figures stand on a clear round display base.

The builds are short: the Minnie Mouse figure has 32 pieces, and Cinderella has 17 including her base. That makes them a relaxing ten-minute build and a nice small gift. They are rated 14+, as the parts are small.

The MGL Toys series we stock

Mickey Mouse & Friends Crystal Series

Six figures: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto (item numbers M801 to M806). Most are about 10.5 cm tall, while Goofy is taller at about 14.5 cm. A fun extra: each box contains extra parts, and when you have all six, those parts build a bonus black-and-white classic Donald Duck. You can buy the figures one by one at €14.95, or all six together in the complete set at €74.95.

Winnie the Pooh Crystal Series

Winnie the Pooh, Piglet and Tigger, each sold separately at €9.95. Pooh is about 7.5 cm tall. They make a sweet trio for a child's room or a nursery shelf, out of reach of little hands.

Disney Princess and Pinocchio

The Cinderella crystal figure (17 pieces, about 8 cm tall) is a quick, pretty build at €9.95. The larger Pinocchio set shows Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket on a brick wall.

Disney 100 blind boxes

MGL Toys also made two blind box series for Disney's 100th anniversary. Each box contains one random figure, so you only find out who you got when you open it:

  • Disney 100 Villains: chibi-style figures of Maleficent, Hades, the Evil Queen, Ursula, Cruella de Vil and Jafar, with translucent details, plus one secret figure.
  • Disney 100 Q-Cute Mickey Family: snap-together crystal block figures with six regular designs and a secret figure. The odds are 1 in 6 for each regular design and 1 in 72 for the secret, and a full display of six boxes contains all six regular designs without repeats.

Why MGL Toys figures are fun

MGL figures sit somewhere between a building set and a figure. You get the small pleasure of putting a character together, but the build is short enough to do with a cup of tea, and the result looks great straight away. Line up the whole Mickey & Friends gang on a sunny windowsill and the colours glow.

They also make easy gifts for Disney fans: small, affordable and different from the usual plush or mug. Building one together is a fun little activity for a teenager and a parent.

Which MGL Toys figure should I choose?

  • A small gift: a Winnie the Pooh figure or Cinderella at €9.95.
  • Mickey fans: Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse at €14.95.
  • The whole gang: the complete Mickey & Friends set of six, including the parts for the bonus Donald.
  • A surprise: a Disney 100 Villains or Q-Cute Mickey Family blind box.
