Microbricks

Microbricks, also called micro blocks or nano blocks, are tiny building bricks, much smaller than standard bricks. They build detailed, compact display models: cute food figures and parrots, dinosaurs, Doraemon, a Chinese dragon, Saint Basil's Cathedral and a cherry blossom train station, from LOZ, Balody, PZX, CLC, MEKANSM, LHCX and more.

What are microbricks?

Microbricks are miniature building bricks, sold under names like micro blocks, nano blocks, diamond blocks or mini blocks. Because every brick is so small, even a model of a few centimetres can show faces, feathers and window details, and larger sets become intricate display pieces.

How do they differ from regular bricks?

  • Much smaller pieces: a model needs far more bricks than the same size in standard bricks. Our palm-sized food figures already use 200 to 300 pieces.
  • A system of their own: micro blocks are a different size and are not designed to connect to standard building bricks. Each set is built from the parts in its own box.
  • Made for display: the models are compact display pieces for a desk or shelf rather than toys for active play. Our range runs from figures of about 6 cm to models of around 30 cm, such as the 4,650-piece Saint Basil's Cathedral.

Building tips

  • Tweezers make it much easier to pick up and place the smallest pieces.
  • Sort the pieces by colour before you start and build on a tray, so small parts don't roll away.
  • Follow the instructions step by step and press each brick down firmly.

Brands in stock

Micro and mini block sets from LOZ, Balody, PZX, CLC, MEKANSM and LHCX, plus smaller ranges from YKO, Wonder Moon and Zhegao. Looking for landmarks in standard-size bricks? Our WANGE architecture sets are in the Bricks collection.

Age guidance

Micro block sets are usually rated 14+, because the pieces are very small and building takes patience and precision. Some sets are rated for younger builders; where the manufacturer states an age, you'll find it on the product page. Not suitable for children under 3 because of small parts.

FAQ

Are microbricks, micro blocks and nano blocks the same thing?

Yes, they are different names for the same idea: tiny bricks for detailed miniature models. The exact brick size can differ between brands and product lines, so always build with the parts that come with the set.

Can I combine micro blocks with my regular bricks?

No. Micro blocks are much smaller and are not designed to connect to standard building bricks.

Do I need special tools?

No tools are required, but a pair of tweezers helps a lot with the smallest pieces.

What age are microbricks suitable for?

Usually 14+. Check the recommended age on each product page, and keep small parts away from children under 3.
