Alternative Brick Systems – More Variety, Same Creative Fun
Looking for an alternative to LEGO®? Find out which brick brands at Toy Haven use standard-size bricks that fit standard building bricks, which use smaller micro or mini blocks, and why Blokees are snap-fit model kits rather than bricks.
Looking for an alternative to LEGO®? Many building-set brands make great models in their own style. But "brick" doesn't always mean the same thing. Some brands use the standard stud size and fit together with standard building bricks. Others use much smaller micro or mini blocks. And some kits that look like bricks are really snap-fit model kits. This guide explains which is which for the brands we sell, so you know what to expect before you buy.
Brands in our range that use standard-size bricks
These brands use the standard stud size and spacing. Their bricks fit standard building bricks, including LEGO®, so you can combine parts or add them to your own builds.
- MJI: mechanical and botanical sets built from ABS bricks that fit the standard brick system. What is MJI?
- Keeppley Pokémon building sets: standard-size bricks, from the small Family Planet Eeveelutions to large display sets. Keeppley Pokémon guide

Look for this line in the product description: "Fits standard building bricks (incl. LEGO®)." We only add it to sets where we have checked that it's true. If a product page doesn't say so, we haven't confirmed it yet. Feel free to ask us.
Brands that use micro or mini blocks
Micro and mini blocks are much smaller than standard bricks. They make very detailed models at a small scale, but they don't fit standard bricks (and usually don't fit each other either).

- Balody: What is Balody?
- YKO: What is YKO?
- Wonder Moon: What is Wonder Moon?

Blokees: model kits, not bricks
Blokees are snap-fit model kits. You build them from pre-shaped parts on runners, without glue, into poseable figures. They are not bricks and don't connect to building bricks. The same goes for Bandai model kits. What is Blokees?
Which one is right for you?
- Want to combine sets with bricks you already have? Choose a standard-size brand like MJI, Keeppley Pokémon, WANGE or AREA-X.
