All six MEKANSM Parrot series micro block birds with their clear dust covers, displayed together on a shelf

MEKANSM is a Chinese micro-block brand, and its Parrot series turns six colourful birds into tiny builds, each perched among flowers and finished with its own clear dust cover. Each parrot costs €4.95 and stands about 8 cm tall.

This guide explains what the MEKANSM parrots are, how micro-block building works, who they suit, and what we have in stock at Toy Haven.

MEKANSM at a glance

  • Who: MEKANSM, a micro-block brand from China.
  • Our range: the six-bird Parrot series (K394 to K399).
  • Brick size: micro blocks, also called diamond or nano blocks, much smaller than standard bricks.
  • Size of build: 194 to 212 pieces per parrot.
  • Finished size: about 6.95 × 6.95 × 8.25 cm in the dust cover.
  • Price at Toy Haven: €4.95 per parrot.

The MEKANSM Parrot series

Each set in the series builds one parrot species on a small base full of flowers, and comes with a clear dust cover that turns it into a little display dome. There are six birds to build:

  • K394 Macaw (212 pieces): a scarlet macaw in red, yellow, green and blue on a branch above colourful flowers.
  • K395 Caique (194 pieces): an orange head, white chest and bright green wings among yellow and pink flowers.
  • K396 Cockatiel (208 pieces): lavender and white, with a pink cheek and crest beside a big pink blossom.
  • K397 Peach Parrot (205 pieces): a soft pink head and yellow body on blue hydrangeas and roses.
  • K398 Lovebird (206 pieces): blue and white with a pink beak, beside a big orange flower.
  • K399 Budgie (199 pieces): a yellow head and green body on a branch with purple flowers.

Each base has its own colour, from light blue to lilac, so the six birds make a cheerful rainbow when you line them up. The boxes are small too, about 12.5 × 11.5 × 7.5 cm, which makes them easy to slip into a party bag, a stocking or a small parcel for a friend.

What are micro blocks?

Micro blocks click together like ordinary bricks, but each piece is tiny. Around 200 of them build a bird only about 8 cm tall, with neat details like a crest, a curved beak or a cluster of petals. The bricks are a different size from standard bricks, so they do not combine with LEGO or other standard-size sets.

Why MEKANSM parrots are fun to build

These are short, satisfying builds: one parrot is a short, relaxing build with a cup of tea, and the dust cover means the finished bird stays clean and safe on your desk. At €4.95 each, they are an easy way to try micro blocks for the first time.

They also make thoughtful little gifts, especially for bird lovers or anyone who keeps a budgie or cockatiel at home: pick the species that matches their own bird. Or build all six together as a family, one bird each, and make a little aviary on the windowsill.

A few tips: work on a tray so tiny pieces do not roll away, sort the colours before you start, and press each piece down firmly so the bird holds together well.

Which MEKANSM parrot should I choose?

  • The most colourful: the K394 Macaw.
  • The quickest: the K395 Caique, with 194 pieces.
  • For pet-bird owners: the K396 Cockatiel, K398 Lovebird or K399 Budgie.
  • The full flock: all six, for a rainbow row on your shelf.
