Build the Straw Hat Pirates’ first ship
Recreate the legendary Going Merry from ONE PIECE with this detailed Bandai plastic model kit.
The completed ship features its unmistakable sheep-shaped figurehead, striped sails, wooden hull, deck structures and Straw Hat Pirates’ Jolly Roger. Moulded details reproduce the wood grain across the hull, knots in the ropes and natural folds in the sails.
With a finished length of approximately 28 cm, commonly marketed as a 30 cm model, this is considerably larger and more detailed than the compact Going Merry kits from the Grand Ship Collection.
Detailed deck and sailing equipment
The ship includes the characteristic equipment and accessories seen aboard the Going Merry, including a cannon, anchor, barrels, crates and other deck details.
The anchor can be repositioned to recreate either a sailing or anchored display. Different materials are used for the rigging, including nylon cord and moulded rope components, combining straightforward assembly with a more realistic finished appearance.
Six Straw Hat crew miniatures
Six small crew figures are included:
- Monkey D. Luffy
- Roronoa Zoro
- Nami
- Usopp
- Sanji
- Tony Tony Chopper
The figures recreate the Straw Hat Pirates in their earlier outfits from the Going Merry period. They are supplied unpainted, allowing experienced builders to add their own colour and detailing.
Decals, stickers and display stand
The kit includes water-slide decals, marking stickers and foil stickers for the sails, hull, windows and smaller decorative details.
A dedicated display stand supports the completed ship, allowing the Going Merry to be presented securely on a shelf or inside a display cabinet. The colour-moulded components use snap-fit construction, so glue is not required. Painting is optional for builders who want to add further realism, particularly to the included crew figures.

Important information
This is an unassembled plastic model kit, not a completed ship or ready-made display model.
The primary ship components are colour-moulded, and glue is not required. Some smaller details are reproduced using the included stickers and water-slide decals.
The six crew miniatures are supplied unpainted. Painting is therefore recommended when recreating their complete character colours, although the Going Merry itself can be assembled and displayed without painting.
Hobby nippers are recommended for cleanly removing the components from their runners. Tweezers are useful for applying smaller stickers, decals and rigging components.
This is the larger Going Merry model and should not be confused with the smaller Grand Ship Collection Going Merry kit.
Contains small and delicate components and is not suitable for children under three years old.
