Constructed from 866 interlocking pieces, this detailed model transforms the graceful form of a dragonfly into a striking mechanical creature with exposed gears, articulated legs, metallic detailing and four translucent wings.
Once assembled, the model measures approximately 37 × 34 × 24.5 cm, creating an impressive centrepiece for a desk, shelf or display cabinet.
Motorised flapping-wing mechanism
The included motor powers an internal system of gears, axles and linkages, creating coordinated movement through the dragonfly’s four wings.
As the mechanism operates, the translucent wings move in a rhythmic flapping motion. The visible mechanical components allow you to see how the different parts work together, making the completed model both a decorative display and an engaging kinetic build.
Integrated LED lighting
Built-in LED lighting adds an atmospheric glow to the dragonfly’s mechanical body and transparent elements, enhancing its futuristic appearance in darker surroundings.
The motor and lighting are powered through the included battery power pack. Penlite AA batteries are required to operate the electronic functions.
Detailed mechanical design
