Combine organic form with cybernetic engineering in the MJI 13094 Mechanical Cyber Owl.
Constructed from 1,296 pieces, this detailed display model recreates an owl with layered mechanical plumage, exposed gears, flexible tubing, circuit-inspired elements and metallic-style silver and gold details.
The completed model measures approximately 19.5 cm wide, 16.2 cm deep and 29.6 cm tall, creating an impressive centrepiece for a shelf, desk or display cabinet.
Free motorisation upgrade included
The Cyber Owl is originally designed with a manually operated mechanical system. A compatible motor and battery module are included free with every set, allowing the internal mechanism to be converted to powered operation.
The complimentary motorisation components are supplied in addition to the standard MJI building set and may be packaged separately from the original retail box.
Batteries for the bonus battery module are not included.
Linked mechanical movement
The owl contains an interconnected system of gears that coordinates several movements throughout the model.
Turn the control wheel on the back—or install the included motorisation upgrade—to activate:
- Raising and lowering wings
- Rotating head movement
- Moving eyes
- Visible internal gear movement
The linked mechanism gives the finished model a mechanical animation that can be enjoyed long after construction is complete.
Illuminated cybernetic eyes
An integrated LED lighting module directs light through transparent optical components into the owl’s pupils, creating an illuminated-eye effect.
The lighting system requires three LR44/AG13 button-cell batteries, sold separately. The light is decorative and is intended to enhance the model’s cybernetic appearance rather than illuminate a room.
Layered mechanical detailing
Specially shaped ABS components recreate the owl’s head, armour, wings, body and talons.
Metallic-style finishes provide the appearance of steel and gold, while translucent sections, flexible tubes, exposed gears and circuit-board-inspired details create the impression of an advanced robotic creature.
A substantial mechanical build
With 1,296 pieces and a detailed internal transmission, the Cyber Owl offers a rewarding project for experienced builders and collectors.
The set includes illustrated instructions and is recommended for builders aged 12 years and older. The original model was first released in 2025.

Important information
This product is supplied as an unassembled building set. Product images show the completed model for illustration.
The standard MJI set uses a manually operated mechanism. Turning the control wheel on the back raises the wings, rotates the head and moves the eyes.
A compatible motor and battery module are included as complimentary additions. These components are not part of the manufacturer’s standard box contents and may therefore be supplied separately from the retail box.
The motorisation upgrade is intended to replace the manual drive input and power the linked mechanism automatically. Carefully follow the building instructions and confirm that all gears rotate freely before connecting or activating the motor.
Batteries for the motor’s battery module are not included. Use only the battery type and voltage indicated on the supplied module.
The eye-lighting module requires three LR44/AG13 button-cell batteries, sold separately.
Do not force the mechanism if the wings, head or eyes do not move smoothly. Switch off or disconnect the motor and check the alignment of the gears, axles and moving joints before continuing.
Some metallic-looking components use decorative or plated finishes and are not made from metal.
